allure Sample Society ::Warehouse Sample Event:: unboxing Part 2 ♥

Thankfully, the correct box was sent to me this time!

L'Oreal total repair extreme shampoo/conditioner
Hmm...the reviews I've read weren't all that great but I like L'Oreal products.
We shall see.
My Sample Value $0.67 each

Ciate paint pots nail polish - *cha cha cha*
This is the cutest polish!
It's close to a neon orange and apparently goes on a lot brighter than what you see in the bottle.
This will be my next color for my nails.
Perfect for summer!
My Sample Value $8.00

Too Faced Melted liquified lipstick - *melted peony*
Heard so many great things about this lip product, this was the main reason why I ordered this box.
It's really amazing!  There's a sponge applicator and it applies matte.
I love it!
My Sample Value $8.40

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye mascara - *black*
Can't complain about another mascara.
I hope this really works out.
My Sample value $14.50

Estee Lauder dark spot correcting serum
This is a high end brand...and I'm really excited to try this.
 My Sample Value $14.88

Emi-Jay Hair ties - 3pack
Awww this are adorable.
I've never tried a fabric hair tie before.
I used it today and it's very cute♥
My Sample Value $6.60

Bond. No.9 perfume
And finally this guy...a perfume sample.
As I was opening it from the rapper, I noticed it was leaking.
Then I pulled out the vial and the whole thing leaked...
I was left with none to sample.
But it smelled real nice.
My Sample Value $0

The total value of this box (roughly) comes to 53.72
Which is not bad for an $18 box.
The Too Faced melted alone was worth it for me..o and the nail polish...and the serum!
This was a good box ♥

allure Sample Society ::Warehouse Sample Event:: unboxing Part 1 ♥

So this happened a couple weeks ago!
allure Sample Society is another monthly beauty subscription service.
It was actually on my list of boxes to try next.
However, they are currently not accepting new customers and are starting a new subscription called Allure Beauty Box starting mid June.  They will no longer be with Beautybar.com.
So I'm assuming this is sort of a final sale of some leftover samples (?)
Anyway, since I've always wanted to subscribe, I decided to try one of the warehouse sample boxes.
They were offering 2 boxes.

So obviously, I want box #1.  It comes with the Too Faced Melted lippie! And a cute polish, and mascara!  So I ordered box #1...or so I thought.

I was super excited to finally try out the Too Faced lippie.
Here is baby L helping me out.

It came with a really cool mini-mag.
Lots of info on the products you receive.

Gah!!!!!
NOOOOO!!!!
They sent me box #2!!
I was sooo bummed.... This box is just not as exciting as the one I wanted.
But...I decided to keep it anyway.  I didn't want to deal with the return shipping, etc.

Kate Somerville Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment
I've never tried an oil product on my face yet.
They recommend mixing a drop or two with the moisturizer you use.
It can also help smooth out your hands and cuticles for a better looking skin and nails.
My Sample Value $6.50 for 0.1oz
(Full size value $65.00 for 1oz)

Givenchy Dahlia Diving Perfume
It smells super fancy...not really my kind of scent but it's still nice
My Sample Value $2.16 for 1ml
(Full size value $65.00 for 30ml)

Fekkai PrX Reparatives Intense Fortifying Hair Masque
Now this I will try!
I love Fekkai and haven't tried this one just yet.
I recently started using their gloss shampoo/conditioner and I'm enjoying it.
My Sample Value $6.04 for 1.69oz
(Full size value $25.00 for 7oz)

L'Oreal Paris Riche Liquid Lipcolor - *molto mauve*
It's a pretty color but it's a gloss.  I'm into matte right now but this will be used.
My Sample Value $9.99 (Full size!)

RGB Nail Polish - *Oxblood*
wow I love this color!  it's in Oxblood so I can only imagine it looks like...blood!
Not now, but I'll wear this in the fall or winter when the color suits better.
My Sample Value $18.00 (Full size!)

LORAC POREfection Mattifying Primer
Ugh...I don't use primers because I don't wear full on foundation or cover-up.
My Sample Value $3.20 for 0.17oz
(Full size value $32.00 for 1.7oz)

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Highlighter - *Highlight 01*
I'm experimenting with highlighters right now and Laura Mercier is a good brand.
I'll start using this one!
My Sample Value $8.77 for 0.06oz
(Full size value $38.00 for 0.26oz)

The total value of this box (roughly) comes to $54.66 and I paid only $18.
It's a good value but again...I'm so sad they sent me the wrong box :(
I re-ordered box #1 and it's on its way.
It better be right this time! Otherwise, I'm sending it back.

Target ::Spring Beauty Box 2015:: ♥

My Target Spring beauty box is here!
This box was $5, free shipping and sold out within the day.

A first look.

The info card.

This looks like a solid box for $5!

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set
This is a full size product and this alone costs $13.99.
I've been so curious about these setting sprays.
It probably helps a lot when you use foundation and cover-up but this will work on your eyes and lips too.  I will try this later today.
My Value $13.99 (Full size value!)

TRESemme TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray
This looks to be a travel size.
I can use this for when I wear my hair up.
My Value $1.47 (travel size)

SheaMoisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Shampoo
I'm bummed that this didn't come with a conditioner but I'll go pick it up at Target today.
I sampled this brand in my previous Target beauty box and I really enjoy it.
Smells great too!
My Value $2.45
(Full size value $9.89)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream
A combination of gel and cream-like texture.
Helps to hydrate your skin.
This is perfect--I was just running out of face cream.
I also love Neutrogena products.
My Value $8.99
(Full size value $17.99)

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color - *Rose Redefined*
I was hoping for more 'make-up' products in the box, like this lip gloss.
The applicator brush is very large and different from the ones I'm used to.
The gloss itself it very liquidy and wet.
I haven't applied it yet but I'm not sure how I'll like it.
My Value $5.99 (Full size!)

The spring box was okay for me but for a $5 box this is amazing!
The total value of the Spring Target beauty box (roughly) comes to $32.89
I'm most excited for the Neutrogena gel cream and the setting spray.
I wish Target would start an actual 'subscription' service ♥

NEW ::Target 2015 Spring Beauty Box:: Now Available ♥

I have been stalking the Target site for weeks waiting for their Spring Beauty Box.
The Target (Spring) Beauty Box is now available for $5.
Yes, a $5 beauty box that promises a $38 value!
Shipping is free and if you use Ebates you get 2% back.

The Target Beauty Box will inlcude:
Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color

TRESemme TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray

*Some Tips & Tricks on how to use the products.*

I was secretly hoping for multiple beauty boxes like the last time but I'm happy with this!
$5 is a total steal and a few of these products are full size.
I'm mostly excited to try the eye gel cream and the setting spray.
I highly recommend ordering a box now because Target boxes sell out very faast.
This box should arrive sometime next week!

mini Target beauty haul ♥

I just love the clearance bins at Target.
Lately, my Target has been 'cleaning house' when it comes to some beauty products.
Some might still be leftovers from the holidays but I think they're making room for some *new* products.  And so, I found some goodies today♥

NIVEA Essentially Enriched Body Lotion
For Dry to Very Dry skin
Nivea is such a great body lotion.  It's thick, creamy (and sometimes they can be greasy).
But I get seriously dry skin so that sort of greasy texture works just fine for me.
I found this 2 pack in the clearance aisle.
It's perfect because my husband actually likes to use this lotion on his hands as well.
The size of this is huge too-- each lotion is 16.9 oz.
This will last a while.
Retails $8.99 marked down to $4.48

Herbal Essences wild naturals
Illuminating Starter Kit
At first I passed on this but then I had myself confused with Garnier Fructis.
I'm not a fan of the Garnier hair shampoo/conditioners.
They don't work well with my hair....but Herbal Essence is a different story!
I'm glad I realized my confusion at the store.
Went back and snagged these.
This kit was made to help "nurture and strengthen your hair against damage".
Illuminating Shampoo / Conditioner
Scent: Seaberry / cassia flower
These are not full size but a super deluxe travel size.
(They look bigger than a travel size...hence the 'deluxe')
Herbal Essences products have the best scents.  This smells like heaven ♥
Illuminating Dry Oil Spray
Now this one is a full size product!
I'm super excited to try this--I've never heard of a dry oil spray before.
This can be used on damp or dry  hair.
It's a moisturizing spray that helps make your hair look healthy and shine!
Again, smells amazing.
Starter kit Retails for $9.99 marked down to $4.98

Herbal Essences wild naturals
Detoxifying Starter Kit
They had 2 kits so I got both.
This one is a detoxifying kit that helps soften and wash away impurities.
Detoxifying Shampoo / Conditioner
Scent: Lemon basil / cassia flower ...so good!!
Intensive Conditioning Treatment
This kit includes a hair treatment--Full size!
This helps to protect your hair and keep frizziness away.
Perfect for my kind of hair!
Starter kit Retails for $9.99 marked down to $4.98

New Mascaras!!
(These were not clearance finds)

L'OREAL Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara
Omg, I've been dying to try this mascara for a while now.
I've been pushing off buying it but today was the day I guess.
I also have the L'OREAL Voluminous Butterfly Intenza mascara I got in my last Target Beauty Box.
I'm still using my Tarte mascara from my ipsy bag, so my next one will be the butterfly intenza...THEN I'll open the Miss Manga ♥
I've heard great things about both.
Retails for $7.99

e.l.f. Volume Plumping Mascara
I'm still new with elf products but I've been enjoying their brushes and lip products.
I picked up one of their mascaras today.
They had a few different brush styles and I went with the 'oversized brush' for dramatic lashes.
Retails for $3.00

eos Lip Balm - Pomegranate Raspberry
I also purchased this a while back, also at Target.
wow, this stuff is amazing!  The formula is great but it's all about the packaging and application.
It's the easiest-to-apply lip balm I've ever owned!
I wish I knew about these sooner.
Retails for $2.99 marked down to $2.08

NIVEA Cocoa Butter Lotion
This is a free sample I signed up for a while back.
I received it in the mail and it came with one packet sample.
I used it right away and enjoyed it.
Like I said, NIVEA products work amazing for my super dry skin.

WALMART Winter Beauty Box...♥

So Walmart also has a beauty box like Target's beauty boxes.
They come out every season (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring) and they cost only $5.
(Except this season Target had a $5 and $10 box)
I believe the Fall box was Walmart's first box, which I didn't get, so they are still pretty 'new' at this.
I was very pleased and impressed with Target though, so I had the same expectations with Walmart.
But this is what I got and I was very underwhelmed to say the least...

Walmart also asks you to fill out a profile, so depending on the age range you fit into, you will receive different items.
I already watched a few unboxings online and they had several different variations.
There were good boxes and some bad ones.
The box I received was the one that most people were disappointed in, and I kinda agree.

L'Oreal Color Vibrancy Shampoo/Conditioner/Mask - Foil packets
Ugh...these foil packets are one time use for me and I consider these to be FREE so there's no value here.  Even if I calculated the value I'm sure it's only worth a few cents.
That being said though, I'm still using these.  Never tried this shampoo.
My Sample Value $0.00

John Frieda Volume Shampoo/Conditioner - foil packets
Ugh..another foil packet sample.  Again, I consider these a freebie so no value here.
I like John Frieda products but I do NOT need volume in my hair.  Quite the opposite actually.
I currently use their Frizz-ease shampoo and conditioner.
My Sample Value $0.00

FLOWER perfume samples
Even worse than foil packets are these scratch and sniff perfume scent samples.
You really can't 'wear' this perfume.  This also has no value.
Reminds me of perfume samples you get in magazines.
My Sample Value $0.00

Burt's Bees facial cleansing towelettes - 10 towelettes
Finally something I like and am happy to get.
I received this same sample in my Target box and I'm currently using it for make-up removal.
I love this!  Works great and I'm happy I just received more.
My Sample Value $1.90
(Full size value $6.49)

Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion
Super tiny samples and I received 2.
I will be putting this in my purse to take with me on the go.
My Sample Value $1.00
(Full size value $8.99)

CoverGirl lip gloss - color *Juicy Fruit*
This was the only full size item and the only item worth the $5 box.
I like this color and will definitely use.
But then I noticed that the seal looked broken... so sad!
Should I still use this??
My Sample Value $5.99
(Full size value $5.99)

Overall, very underwhelming.
It feels like they just put it together randomly at the last minute with not much thought put into these boxes.  I also don't like that some boxes were really great and some like mine were barely worth the $5.  I can't complain because it's a super inexpensive box but a little more consistency and fairness throughout the boxes would be nice.
The total value of this season's Walmart beauty box (roughly) comes to $8.89
Meh... but I'll stay subscribed for the next spring.
Also, shipping took forever!!  Some people didn't even receive tracking and some people received tracking AFTER they received their box weeks ago.  I'm hoping they are more organized next season.
