ipsy glam bag contents for February 2015 ♥

My ipsy February bag is here!
This month it took a bit longer since I redeemed an item with my points.
Baby L decided to join me for the photoshoot ^_^

This month's bag is very cute--lotsa pink and quite girly.

"#ipsyLove" is this month's theme.
Appropriate for a Valentine month.

Here are my products plus 1 item I redeemed with my ipsy points.

Luxie Beauty Large Angled Face Brush 504
This is a very nice brush.  Super soft, tapered, large and quite cute with the baby pink handle.
This is more for contouring and highlighting but I haven't ventured into contouring yet.
But now I have a brush for it.  I shall experiment soon.
My Sample Value $16.00
(Full size value $16.00)

Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
ooo I love face peel-off masks!
You typically apply a thin layer all around so this should give me more than a few tries.
My Sample Value $7.00
(Full size value $35.00)

ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder - shade *cosmopolitan*
This is a really cute compact blush.
But honestly, I don't wear a whole lot of blush.
And even if I do, I don't use much of it so this will last me a long time.
My Sample Value $18.00
(Full size value $22.00)

CARGO Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss - color *Anguilla*
I really like this!
It's a color I don't own.  A very nude-pink.
My Sample Value $8.00
(Full size value $16.00)

rob scheppy for 'Tini Beauty Eyeshadow - shade *Pearl Fizz*
oh no!!
This eyeshadow arrived broken..
Most definitely happened during the shipping process.
I went ahead and emailed ipsyCare to see if they offer replacements.
I got an amazing response and today I received a tracking for my replacement.
They couldn't guarantee the same color but I'm fine with that.
So far, great customer service.
My Sample Value $12.00
(Full size value $12.00)

Extra item

Figs & Rogue Rose Berry Hand Cream - scent *Rose Berry*
ipsy offers a few items that you can redeem with your ipsy points.
These are points you accrue from reviewing, sharing and referring friends.
They usually have items starting from 500 points (which can take a while to get to).
But last month they offered a few items for 250 points and so I snagged one!
I snagged the Ayres Body Butter (right) or so I thought....
Well, I got a totally different item in my bag.
Instead, they put in the Rose Berry Hand Cream (left).
Weird...I had already emailed them about the broken eyeshadow so I didn't feel like emailing and complaining again... Besides, I'm fine with the hand cream.  I was actually debating between the 2 so I'll keep it!
My Sample Value $6.00
(Full size value $6.00)

Overall a pretty nice bag.
Pink overload though, hahaha.
The total value for this month's bag comes to (roughly) $61.00
If I include the extra item I redeemed, it comes to $67.00

beauty box 5 contents for February 2015 ♥

My February beauty box 5 is here.

A first look.
This month's theme is "hooray!"
It also happens to be bb5's 3rd year anniversary.

Info card.
I noticed they started labeling which items are full size or not.
That's very helpful!

I'm already liking what I see so far!
The past few months have been...well, less than stellar.

Freeman Beautiful Body, Body Wash - cucumber, melon & ginseng
This is actually a decent sized packet.
I could easily get a few washes from this.
I love cucumber melon scent so I look forward to using this.
My Sample Value $2.99

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel - color *Bold Sangria*
I like Revlon nail polishes.
The color is kind of 'gothic' to me.
I'm already pale so I think wearing this will make me look more pale.
It's a perfect color for halloween though!
My Sample Value $3.99
(Full size value $3.99)

Absolute New York Love Lip Balm - *Strawberry*
Wow, so many lip products this season!
I have a couple lip balms open right now but one of my favorites is running low.
I might replace it with this one.
It smells like, you guessed it, Strawberries!
My Sample Value $5.00
(Full size value $5.00)

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow - *Vanilla Frosting*
This sample is teeny tiny! But it's actually full size, and costs $22.50.
Wow!
I swatched it and it's so pretty--a very shimmery white/pearl color.
Will definitely be wearing this one.
My Sample Value $22.50
(Full size value $22.50)

Avon Big Color Eye Pencil - natural vibe
Color pencils are nice because they are super easy to apply.
This color is so light and pretty much matches my skin tone that you can't see anything on my lid.
I might use it as a highlighter around my eyes.
My Sample Value $3.49
(Full size value $3.49)

$20 Gift Card - yourMinerals
We all received a $20 gift card to yourMinerals.
I checked out the site and they offer an array of eye make-up.
All, if not most, in powder form. (Just like the Marsk eyeshadow)
I may make a purchase, considering most of their products are $21 and the gift card is for $20.
I'll probably have to pay for shipping though. Still a great deal.

Overall, I like this box!
It's so much better than the last few...I was starting to regret my subscription.
I'm not sure that I'll renew when my subscription is up though.
Too many bad months versus good months.
A little more consistency would be nice...going forward I hope they keep getting better!
The total value of this month's box (roughly) comes to $37.97

BIRCHBOX #2 contents for February 2015 ♥

This month my (2) boxes shipped a few days apart but I ended up receiving them together on the same day!
I have 2 Birchbox accounts (Thanks to an awesome yearly subscription deal which brings the $10/month down to around $7.99/month)
On one account I chose the Guest Editor Box of the month,.
This month it was the "Rent the Runway - All In The Details Box".
That post is right here.
On my other account, (this post) I went with the 'regular' monthly box.
For this month's sample choice I chose the Marcelle make-up Remover.

I think the box design is so fun and cute!
I'm really enjoying the different designs each month ♥

Introduction card.
They threw in a promo for the new curling mascara by benefit.
I LOVE benefit cosmetics and they actually sampled this mascara this month.
I was hoping to get it in my box but I didn't :(
Sad panda over here...

A first look.

I was pleased to see that my make-up remover sample was a lot bigger than I imagined.
yay!

Marcelle Gentle Make-Up Remover
So happy to have this! I just ran out of my other make-up remover sample by Clinique, which by the way worked great! But I wanted to try this one to see if it works even better before I purchase a full size of the Clinique remover.
My Sample Value $5.00
(Full size value $15.00)

amika Nourishing Mask
This is a hair mask.
I have an opened full size hair mask right now so I won't be using this one just yet.
I've heard nothing but great things about amika so I'm pumped!
My Sample Value $4.00
(Full size value $12.00)

COOLA Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint
I was confused at first because it sounded like a sunscreen lotion.
Then the description said it was tinted...and now I see on the bottle that this is a BB Cream.
Oh! ok, so it's a BB cream with SPF 30...
anyways, yay!  My past BB creams are all so tiny in size, I was just running out.
I hope the shade compliments my skin tone.
My Sample Value $3.60
(Full size value $36.00)

Harvey Prince - scent*Sincerely*
Perfume sample.
At first when I started beauty subscriptions, I wasn't all too excited about getting perfume samples.
But y'know what?  I kind of like getting them now.
I have quite the collection-- I have 8 samples right now and I like alternating between them.
I discovered a new favorite too!
As for this one, it smells girly but a very fresh/clean scent.
Does that make sense? like just-outta-the-shower-freshness scent.
Hard to explain...
My Sample Value $1.65
(Full size value $55.00)

eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - color*black*
Another eyeliner...!
But this one is new for me.  It's a liquid eyeliner in a pen-form.
Super easy to apply and it's very juicy.
So far it seems to be long lasting.
I read online it's best to store this eyeliner vertically with the tip pointing down.
My Sample Value $16.00
(Full size value $16.00)

Overall, I'm happy and satisfied.
But there were better boxes out there.
This month they had a total of 61 box variations.
Some people got to sample the new benefit curling mascara and some even got a beauty blender!
Box envy for sure...but I may get one in a future box.
Here's to hoping!
The total value for this month's box (roughly) comes to $30.25
Wow, value-wise this box was great!
I'm surprised it had a higher value than the Rent the Runway box!
^_^

BIRCHBOX #1 contents for February 2015 ♥

This month my (2) boxes shipped a few days apart but I ended up receiving them together on the same day.  woohoo!
I have 2 Birchbox accounts. (Thanks to an awesome yearly subscription deal)
I used one account to receive the Guest Editor Box.
The other account I used for the 'regular' monthly box.
This post is for my Birchbox account #1, the Guest Editor Box.
This month they collaborated with "Rent the Runway - All in the Details Box".

This box is so pretty!
There's a floral design on the trim of the box.

The introduction card.
We also received a $30 credit towards a $75+ order placed on their website,
Honestly, I don't think I'll use the credit.
Rent the runway is a site where you can rent high end dresses for special occasions, balls, parties, weddings, etc.  I have no such party lined up for me and the rental prices are quite high.
I'll need to spend at least $45 no matter what, so I'll pass.

A first look.

I'm liking what I see!

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoos are a new favorite for me.
I currently have a few brands and this might be a new favorite for me.
First off, it's a very generous size.  Bigger than the other dry shampoos I have.
And it smells uh-mazing.
It's hard to pick the best one but I love my Klorane dry shampoo and Fekkai the best.
My Sample Value $10.00
(Travel size value $10.00)

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash -
scent *The stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in (because sometimes fate needs an assistant)*
Really, that's the full name of the scent.
This is my first Not Soap, Radio product but I've been dying to try it.
I love their quirky product names.
This is a shower gel and it smells divine ♥
Kinda sweet, fruity...and the gel itself is this pomegranate color.
My Sample Value $1.80
(Full size value $16.00)

derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub
Another brand I was hoping to try.
I see their product at Pharmaca a lot.
I'm excited to try it--I love facial scrubs.
But it'll be a while before I open this guy up... I have several facial scrubs lined up
to be used.
My Sample Value $3.20
(Full size value $12.75)

theBalm cosmetics Read My Lips Lip Gloss - color*BAM!*
I love theBalm!!! I have their Cindy-Lou Manizer.  Now I get to try a lip product!
I thought it would be too pinky and girly for me but nope, I love this.
The shade is actually pretty close to my natural lip color so it's a subtle pink.
Not sticky, which is good.
My Sample Value $4.00
(Full size value $15.00)

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner - color*raina (Navy blue)*
This is my 3rd Sumita eyeliner.
I already had this color but I chose this box knowing I would get a dupe.
This is a great eyeliner anyway so I'm glad to have an extra one.
My Sample Value $5.50
(Full size value $11.00)

Awesome Guest Editor Box this month♥
And seriously, the box is adorable.
I'm glad they chose to design its own box this month.
I hope they start doing it more.
The total value for this month's Guest Editor Box (roughly) comes to $24.50
This box was a total win for me.
